Brett Gómez is an Australian guitarist, developing a reputation as an extraordinary virtuoso amongst the next generation of classical guitarists. Brett began playing the guitar at an early age, receiving his first lessons from his father. In 2019 he was given the opportunity to undertake his Master’s Degree with the critically acclaimed Cuban Maestro, Marco Tamayo at the prestigious Universität Mozarteum in Salzburg, Austria. He holds a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Sydney, where he studied under Dr. Vladimir Gorbach, graduating with Distinction in Guitar Performance. During this time, he received classes from some of the world’s leading guitarists.

 

Brett has performed across Australia and Europe. Having a great passion for Flamenco music, Brett studied Flamenco guitar under Paco Serrano in Cordoba, Spain, where he also spent a considerable amount of time performing as a soloist and an accompanist. Furthermore, as a founding member of the Codex Quartet, one of Australia’s leading quartets, He has given performances at several prestigious events, including The Melbourne International Guitar Festival, amongst others.

 

 Highly sought after as a teacher, his students regularly perform very successfully in Competitions and Exams. With over 8 years of experience, Brett mentors students across all ages and levels. He works closely with each student, guiding them to achieve their goals, whether that be a beginner learning a few chords to play their favourite pop/rock songs, or an advanced student preparing for an important concert or competition
