Stefan Christie

Piano Teacher

Stefan began piano study at the age of three and has since given recitals in the United Kingdom, Australia, Indonesia, Japan, and the United States. After gaining his AMusA with Distinction, he completed his Bachelor of
Music and Honours degree at the University of Melbourne under the tutelage of Janine Sowden (BMus/Honours) and Alexandre Dossin (Honours). Stefan went on to study at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London, where he
completed both a Graduate Certificate and a Master’s Degree in Piano Performance. Whilst there, he received instruction from Lucy Parham, Peter Bithell, and Caroline Palmer. He performed in masterclasses given by notable teachers and soloists such as Joan Havill, Noriko Ogawa, Richard Goode, Philip Jenkins, and Imogen Cooper. Stefan is the recipient of several prestigious scholarships, including the FW.
Homewood Scholarship, Donovan-Johnston Memorial Scholarship, the Prestigious Travelling Scholarship, and a Guildhall financial award. In 2020, he was invited as a lecturer at Charles Darwin University, where he taught
lessons and classes about piano performance, music history, and chamber music.
 

With nearly a decade of teaching experience, Stefan has guided many students in pursuing artistic fulfilment and excellence. His teaching philosophy centres on building strong technical foundations and artistic expression. He has
taught students of all ages and skill levels and tailors lessons to student's individual goals and musical journeys. Stefan brings his passion for music to every lesson and enthusiastically fosters students to become proficient

musicians and lifelong art lovers.
