Ready for the Sight-Reading Test?
To join our Piano Accompanist Training Program, we need to assess your sight-reading skills through a short recording task.
You’ll be asked to record and upload 2 sight-reading pieces — one at a time — each within 5 minutes of opening the sheet music.
 How it works:
-
Once you start the timer, a random sight-reading piece will be revealed to you.
-
You’ll have 5 minutes to complete and upload your performance.
-
If you don’t upload within the time limit, the recording will stop automatically. You won’t be able to restart the same piece, but you can still choose to upload the stopped recording.
-
Want to try again? You can start over with a new piece and repeat the steps until you’re happy with your result.
-
You must upload 2 recordings in total for your test to be considered complete.
Example: If you open Piece 1 at 3:00 PM, you will not be able to record after 3:05 PM.

Before you begin, please make sure you have:
-
A portable device with a big screen (iPad, laptop, etc.) placed on or near the piano to read the sheet music
-
A stable internet connection
-
Your device's microphone is enabled
-
A quiet space to record
-
You're ready at the piano

We strongly recommend that you test out the recording interface before you begin the timer to get familiar with its functions.

This is not about perfection — we’re looking for musical awareness, steady rhythm, and your ability to respond to unfamiliar music.

When you're ready, register below to begin your first piece.
