Marija Stojakovic
Violin/Vocal Teacher
Marija Stojakovic obtained her Bachelor Degree in Music (Violin) as the best student of her generation at the age of 19. She has received her formal education at the Academy of Music in Belgrade and the Sydney Conservatorium of Music majoring in both vocal (Opera) and instrumental (Violin).

After moving to Australia in 1992, Marija started performing as an orchestra player with Australian Chamber Orchestra and Australian Opera. As a performer she won numerous competitions in Europe and Australia, recorded for Australian ABC, 2MBS-FM and SBS Radio and for the last 30 years has been teaching music at prestigious colleges and schools.

Marija was also a concertmaster of the Hunter and Balmain orchestras in Sydney.
As a soloist, she collaborated with various orchestras in Australia and overseas performing concertos by Mozart, Beethoven, Sibelius, Tchaikovsky and well known pieces by Sarasate “Gipsy Airs”and “Carmen Fantasy”.

Marija Stojakovic has taught Violin for over 20 years to private students with a primary focus on AMEB syllabus. She has developed outstanding teaching ability throughout her varied experiences working with students at Sydney Conservatorium of Music, Newington College, Musicalis Australis Music School and St Patrick’s College.
Marija possesses an enhanced ability to built meaningful respecting rapport with her students gained through an understanding that students are enhanced holistically through the creative expression, spiritual awareness and enjoyment that learning an instrument can provide.
